I've been living with a surgical hernia for the past 3 years, and now in my 40’s , I began to have a health scare in the last 6 months. Enough that I decided to see about interventions for a better quality of life. When I met with a surgeon, she really made it a point to talk to me about my weight. My weight has been one of those lifelong challenges, at times it's up (especially when there was trauma), others I'm down, and it was clear that it's time to get it under control.
